About Ahadi

First built and proven in Tanzania, we carry that origin forward as a proof point for what is possible.

Our story

Same commitment. Sharper focus. Broader ambition.

Early TAHMEF community work, natural light
Founded as TAHMEF

Built in Tanzania to bring mental health support to young people who had nowhere affordable, near, or safe to turn. A decade of frontline work, in schools, communities, and health services, proved what is possible.

Proven in Tanzania

What began as direct support grew into a delivery model: digital channels young people actually use, trained people already in their lives, and partnership with government to make it stick.

Becoming Ahadi

The rebrand is not a change of heart, it is the next chapter. The same commitment, a sharper focus on systems that last, and the ambition to carry the model beyond Tanzania.

Tanzania is the proof point. TAHMEF is the foundation. Ahadi is where it is going.

Our mission and what we believe

To connect young people to mental health care, build the frontline capacity to deliver it, and integrate both into public health systems for lasting support.

Human-centered care
Technology can open the door, but care is a human act. Every pathway ends with a person.
Technology as enabler
Digital tools exist to reach further and respond faster, never to replace human support.
Government ownership
Lasting support lives inside public systems. Our goal is a system governments own and run.
Youth as participants
Young people shape this work as advisors, ambassadors, and peer supporters, not passive recipients.
Leadership and team

African-founded, African-led. Female-founded, female-led.

The team behind Ahadi has spent a decade working alongside young people, health workers, and government partners in Tanzania.
